Lean on me

My practice is based in the belief that we all have an innate capacity for healing and transformation. I provide a secure and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore their inner world, so that they can gain insight into their feelings and emotions and create positive change in their lives. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) trained in analytic and psychodynamic therapy. I feel passionately about helping people connect with their true selves. I believe that in order to heal and grow, we must be willing to explore our inner truths and face our shadows. I am committed to helping my clients to live authentically and find meaning and purpose in their lives.

Why am a therapist for adults as well as children?

Over the years it has become very clear to me that a lot of our adult traits are the result of how we perceived and adjusted to our environment during childhood, in other words the defenses and walls we have built in the past.

I call this developmental trauma and it is very different from big-T - trauma ( tragic accidents, single impactful events ). As we grow and develop in our families we bring our personality to the table, for example being a sensitive person, and we will then uniquely react to our environment - usually in a way to minimize emotional pain and maximize love. This then leads to tendencies and traits that may not be helpful as we relate to others as adults.

For this reason I decided to further train in child development and child therapy and tremendously enjoy working with both children and adults.
